Types of black rice: -


Black Japanese rice: -

This type of rice is a mixture of small and medium grains that have a earthy aroma and a mild sweet taste.

Black glutinous rice: -

 
Also known as 'black sticky rice'. This type of grain is thin in size and has an adhesive texture. Cereals are uneven in color. They are commonly used in Asian desserts.

 Italian black rice: -

These are tall, Chinese black rice, with a good buttery aroma similar to both Italian rice, 

Thai black jasmine rice:-

 Originally from Thailand. The grain is of medium size. It is a blend of Chinese black rice and Thai jasmine rice. Has a slight floral odor.

  Varieties of black rice in Telugu states        Organic cultivation Method

 ● Kaalabatti:-
 ✓ Rice appears black in color. After cooking the rice turns dark purple. Has good aroma and high nutritional value. New grains are sown in June-July for cultivation.

✓ Ploughing should be done in the first ditch after two months of vegetative growth and seed stage. Two days before ploughing the natural solid Fertilizer rate was 300 350 kg per acre. Should be applied 

✓ The seedlings should be drained. The seedlings should be sown at the rate of 25 cm per seedling above 10-15 tillers.

✓ Natural Liquid Fertilizer should be applied at the rate of 200 liters per acre for 10 days after transplanting 5 times every 10 days during harvest. 

 
✓ Fifty days later, spray Dashaparni KashaYum to get rid of worms.  Make sure the water is not stored for too long.  Three kg of seed per acre is sufficient.
