Seed production | seed technology |                 seed production stages

Seed is the most important investment of all investments made by farmers in order to achieve high yields in the agricultural sector.

Crop yield now depends on seed quality.  For any building to last, the foundation must be solid.

Also, in order to get the full productivity of the varieties planted in any crop, good cultivation practices should be followed using quality seed.

Seed formation is a natural metabolic seed of a dormant seedling  Is waiting for the favorable conditions necessary to sustain its growth.

Therefore proper care should be taken without cutting during seed cutting, threshing and storage.

Seeds produced with scientific knowledge are considered to be superior as they have certain quality standards.

  Quality seed traits: -

◆Superior varieties have high genetic purity and physical purity.

◆High germination rate, high vitality and of descent.

◆ Humidity percentage is in the prescribed range.

◆ Seeds of harmful weeds or other types of plants belonging to the same crop should not be mixed.

◆Good packing, should be on the right label. Quality seed production is like an uninterrupted chain.

◆ This process is done step by step Seed production stages can be divided into four stages based on who is supervising the seed production and its genetic purity.

1. Nucleus seed: -

The nucleus seed is the source of all the seed series that are available in small quantities at the scientist who first produced the bend.  The stem is produced in the same research position under the own supervision of the scientist who designed the bend.  Nucleus seed has one hundred percent genetic purity and physical purity.

  2. Breeder Seed:-

This seed is produced using the source seed in a research center under the supervision of a scientist.  Supplied in bags with 100% genetically pure gold color tag 3. Foundation Seed: Foundation seed is produced from breeder seed.  The quality of the seed is tested and verified by scientists and officials of the State Seed Certification Agency.  It is genetically 99% pure and has a white tag

4. Certified Seed: -

This range of seed is grown from foundation seed.  Seed certification agency officials examine and verify this seed production at various stages.  Certified seed has a genetic purity of 97-99% depending on the crop and is supplied in blue tar bags.  This seed is only available to farmers to cultivate their crops.

  5. Label Seed (Truthful Label Seed):-

This seed is not certified by the seed certification body.  It is sold by the average seed grower by printing seed scales on a light green label.

It should be bought based on the trust placed in the seed growers.  Seed certification agency officials inspect the seed and tag it according to its range.

The information indicated below is printed on that tag.

● Certification Company Name, Address

● Seed Type, Genetic Purity Details

● Lot Sequence Number Other Identity Symbols Related to Seed

● Producer Name, Address.

●Tagged date, information on how long the seed can be used

● Scientist signature ●Information on a specific range of Seed

Certified seed has genetic original traits No pathogenic fungi, no seeds of weed High genetic purity, physical purity, vitality, moisture in prescribed quantity.

Benefits of using certified seed:

The genus has ●genetically similar characteristics and is highly resistant to pests.  ●Yield quality increases as the paddy matures and matures simultaneously.  Other seeds, but not weed seeds, are clean.  Less weeds, kali plants fall.  Firm seeds have a high percentage of strength

●  The seed germinates well and the superior sprouts come in large numbers and contribute to high yields.  ●Protection from seed-borne fungi is high.

●The seed can be stored for a long time due to the fixed moisture content.

●   Farmers should select a suitable variety for the area they want to cultivate before buying seeds.

●  If you want to buy seeds of eggplants made by private companies, you have to consider whether the eggplants have been cultivated and examined by either the Agricultural University, the Department of Agriculture or the farmers in the area for quality seed ..
